Milano Open 2022

The best Disc Golf Tournament in Italy: no doubts!

Milan Open now means the best Disc Golf Tournament in Italy. Appointment that can’t be missed by local players, and much appreciated by international pros. An event that keeps growing since his first time in 2017, year where our association has started to operate precisely with this event.

The venue? obviously the Parco Lambro Disc Golf Course, prepared with an 18 holes layout much appreciated by both novice and well experienced players.

The challenge? mostly around technical holes based on tight gaps, long par 3’s and risky OB lines through the entire course.

In this context, a great group of staff and volunteers have offered to over 60 players an event composed by 3 rounds, one 9 holes final, a disc golf clinic and an unforgettable Saturday night party.

Cherry on the cake? A warm weather, sunny days and t-shirts rounds in the afternoon.

Results:

Novice division has been taken by Marco Benedetti with a 4 strokes lead on the second place of Gyorgiy Csepeli from Hungary.

Womens division has been dominated by Isabelle Quenaudon, followed by Aliz Csepeli and by a tied 3° place for our Mari Barresi and Babs Vranken.

Emile Barbe was the winner of the MPO division. An 8 strokes leadership taken with a blind Round 1, preserved until a super fun 9 holes Finals.

Noteworthy the performance of Edoardo Turri, only Italian that have earned a spot in the Finals with a clean and consistent game, showing great skills on Lambro Course for the entire 2022.

Official results are online on the PDGA page

In conclusion, we are very happy of this further success for disc golf in Italy. Two days full of great memories for anyone involved, impossible to make this happen without the main sponsor: DGL – Disc Golf Lovers Milano. Wouldn’t be the same without them!

Further and bigger thanks go to Hole19, Main partner of our association.

To the Milano Townlhall and the local Municipality that are always supporting our events and that made the Lambro Course happen.

And finally, to all the staff and volunteers that made possible such a good event!
